Originally released in 2013, ‘Yessir Whatever’ brings together 12 Quasimoto tracks recorded over a period of approximately 12 years. The album is now available in a new silver LP edition with a silver foil sticker.
Quasimoto, the MC alter ego of producer Madlib, released two albums on Stones Throw in the early 2000’s: the underground hip-hop cult classic ‘The Unseen’ (2000) and ‘The Further Adventures of Lord Quas’ (2005).
‘The Unseen’ was one of the first sleeper hits of the new decade, making Spin’s year-end list when the producer and label were still unknown outside the hip-hop DJ scene. ‘The Further Adventures of Lord Quas’ cemented Madlib’s reputation as one of hip-hop’s most creative and idiosyncratic creators.
In addition to his work as a solo artist, Madlib has also collaborated with Four Tet, Freddie Gibbs, J Dilla (as Jaylib) and most notably with MF DOOM (as Madvillain).
